Nocturnes problem was that it's original creator had extremely high standards that alienated those in /jp/ who sent stories in. Once he was out the picture a guy with low standards took over. The problem was that he didn't really take the time to edit the stories properly and never really got the opinion of Nocturnes changed from being considered elitist. So basically people had assumed this elitist magazine was going to put some amazing stories out, but instead the new guy just threw some stories out in hopes of just getting something out there so that his time wouldn't be wasted. The funny thing is that if the original high standards were kept there would probably be no magazine out. When it comes to /jp/ projects you have to have someone actually competent running things and have low standards for everything.
