How do you all personally settle between your route choices in a VN? I'm not sure of any potential common signs for knowing when something might lock you in or out of a specific route, as I'm still fairly new to the genre. So many respectable options to pick between, it's kind of troublesome to manage my choices. I'm currently at a scene where I can choose to hug someone or ask to hold their hand instead. I peeked a bit through both sequences, and the dialogue seems to be similar in some aspects, but tonally quite different.

It's reasonable to say that the first choice will lead to a more intimate scene chain, but it will surely progress further from there. Who knows whether a single one of those choices may lock me into a route early on or not?
