well , they try to keep the pure innocent image of the girls.
The girls have a huge following of guys who have no chance to land on a real girl and for them this idols are kind of like girlfriends and they are willing to spend much money on the products promoted by their favorite girl.This is the sad part of the idol industry

Don't know , I think its possible , but depends on your Japanese skills and working exp.

I just know about some guy who worked at wall street for a few years and with 30 he came to japan and spend the first year as english teacher until he found a much much better job for some big company.
