It's 2023! What better time to celebrate the new year than to take your dearest friend Seiran for a walk around the village! Seems there are a lot of fun looking spots to explore.
Seiran could have taken the opportunity to sell her dangos then & there, but it seems she hasn't developped that business consciousness yet. It's not all that bad, in the grand scheme of things.
As you join with the lovely bun, she looks more joyful than usual. She tells you all about how 2023 is the year of the bunny, and this ought to be the year of great opportunities for her! You learn as you walk that Seiran is also way into horoscope and that kind of stuff. Quite frankly, you didn't think much of it yourself. When you make such broad assumptions, you're bound to have people recognize themselves at some point. You didn't want to be a mood killer, so you entertained the rabbit's superstitious yet optimistic antics.
You eventually make your way into what seems to be an open game corner of sorts, with a lot of games to try. What seems to get your attention first is a test of strength, asking you to swing as hard as you can with a mallet. In an attempt to impress your rabbit companion, you go first, and make a good swing! The score says 875, out of what likely caps at 999. You try your best to act cool as if you didn't break a sweat, and invite Seiran to give it her best shot. What followed may have been quite the blow to your manhood - Seiran hits the machine with impressive strength, and the score goes up & up, until it stops at a staggering 963! You're a little speechless as Seiran scratches her head & says its nothing special.
You swallow a bit of shame to have been so throughly outdone by a girl in a trial of strength, but you soon wouldn't feel so bad as it triggered Seiran to reminisce of her times at the Moon. It seems she's kept some good memories out of that whole ordeal, even though she's glad to have left that life behind where she felt like cattle. You're glad to learn more about your bunny friend and to be able to know about her past without forcing the issue. You had heard through rumors that the medicine selling girl that came by the village every now & then was actually also a rabbit, but who had a much worse experience in the moon.
With all that being set, you head towards what appears to be the main event of the game corner: A rubber duck race across the river! That's just adorable. You & Seiran decide to participate, as its free, and who knows, you might be able to win & get her something fancy. The race rages on, some ducks getting stuck on the aquatic plants, including Seiran's! She's a bit bummed, but it seems you're still in it. You walk along with Seiran to follow your rubber duck, and soon enough, you'd witness the results. Your ducky got 3rd! Wooooo! You didn't get 1st, but you did good enough to choose a prize among 10 available fro the Top 10 contestants. You decide to pick a fluffy looking teddy bear, and offer it to your favorite blue rabbit!
Seiran looks so happy, her eyes are full of love! It was getting rather late, so you part ways for today, but the both of you are absolutely impatient to spend more time together, with perhaps more to your relation happening this year? That reminds you, you forgot to ask Seiran what her New Year Resolutions were... You can only wonder what's on her mind...
