Yeah well those were also proper traditional metal bands. Not an ex idol group that only got a full-time live band 4 years into their career. And of course those bands attracted the proper traditional metalheads as well.

Also I'm guessing that it was 10+ years ago before everyone started recording everything onto instagram all the tie.

Maybe this is a bit of self-hate, but when I look at a crowd of Babymetal fans, I don't get the impression that it's a metal show. I think that I'm looking at a My Little Pony convention floor.

but yeah the crowd really was dead, there have been better crowds for sure. That Japanese WoD at whatever outdoor summer festiival was legendary, and there was a shit-ton of crowd surfers at that random festival in the states where they played in the rain and the guitars were fucked for the first few minutes of their show.
