Given how readily most monsters eat or keep as pets various animals, they probably don't see them too differently from the way humans see animals. They may recognize or like similarities, but they don't see themselves as the same as such creatures.

Everything living in the MGE uses mana yes, but the average amount is noted to be based on the "tier" of being. i.e. from least to most mana we have:

Plants
Animals
Humans
Monsters
Gods

Going by that, a elephant sized mamono realm pig probably has less mana than a human or monster despite its greater size. The amount of mana needed to keep something alive is after all much less than the amount it may be able to produce for spells and such. Hence why someone can keep living provided they retain even a small amount of their regular mana amount (which happens if they drain all their usable mana via spells or other means).

Normal wolf? Possibly, but only if you are not an incubus or married to a monster. With her mana in you wild animals recognize you as a superior being and will not attack you unless they are threatened (or at least this is what is said regarding sharks, I assume it applies to animals in general).

Also, mamono realm beasts (i.e. animals in dark mamono realms) just plain won't attack humans regardless, unless, again, they are threatened (in which case they can inflict horrible injuries even to monsters and incubi).

Monsters have something of a broader sense than humans for what counts as cute or beautiful.

Smaller versions of these pigs are popular as pets after all.

And then there are the tentacle brains that are also kept as pets, though I think even a human could admit they look kind of cute.

Incubi aren't invulnerable, just tougher and harder to kill than regular humans, and they don't only look for pleasure either (beyond extreme cases or the hyperbole popular in KC's writing).

And even KC's world isn't fully harmless either. You want a dangerous job that requires you to better yourself? Become a mamono realm beast hunter. Such creatures won't normally attack monsters or humans, but when hunted for food they will defend themselves fiercely. There's a reason monster villages worry for their people when hunting parties go after particularly large and strong beasts.

And yes, incubi are confirmed to be among those who are employed as beast hunters.

So you are living in a dark mamono realm with your waifu, and your daughteru wants a pet for her birthday. What do you get her?

1. Mamono Realm Pig (small, medium or large, can be tame and friendly)
2. Mamono Realm Shelled Bug (skittish, usually the size of a average dog, may shower someone in aphrodisiac energy when alarmed)
3. Tentacle brain (small, intelligent and cute tentacle plants often kept as pets).
4. Other mamono realm beast (make one up).
5. Some mundane creature/plant from a human realm or bright green mamono realm (beware, it may mutate in a dark mamono realm).

Why would animals be afraid of mamono realms forming? They're overflowing with life and food. Animals do well even in dark mamono realms, though they may change form into larger and more threatening-looking creatures.

Its only humans that find the dark realms intimidating. Though I suppose the initial transformation may scare some creatures.
