Pretty much what >>41255141 said, you just need more lights. It doesn't have to be as complicated as his image, just a cheap softbox or ring light will make a ton of difference. Even using window light during the day will help a lot.
Keep your hand steady when you press the button, if your phone has portrait mode you can try that too.
