I agree. I feel they could have provided a lot more detail. It feels like they only provided the necessities for the story.

It was definitely a bit much at times, but that's just the kind of story it is. It almost has a "classic" horror movie feel to it. By that, I mean those popular films like Friday the 13th or Halloween. It's not something you really need to think about too much.
