Riyu suggests locking the door to slow down the culprit and give Battler a chance to strike them, which Eva agrees with. She makes Natushi give her the master key, which she reluctantly does. Eva wishes for Battler to stay safe, which he promises to do. He can't die until the culprit pays for what they did. Riyu reads the letter, again only containing a location, the shed, and they confirm they shoul dgo there to give the culprit time, glad to be setting a trap for him. Maria just laughs however, claiming a simple trick like this is useless for Beatrice, discouraging everyone. Riyu questions her, leading her to explain this magic circle will return the two after their death regardless of their plans, which Battler questions is possible. Maria confirms locked doors mean nothing to her magic, and Rosa interrupts to take everyone except Battler to the shed.
