So today was my first time playing Touhou (EoSD). I'm used to FPS like Quake, that can easily be described as frantic. This is... different. I couldn't stop thinking "JESUS FUCK AOEUAOEUAOEU"

I got to 62% on normal on my first try.

So, tell me, how does a game like this spawn a meme like "take it easy"?

Isn't danmaku pretty wasteful? All that energy is expended for so few hits. Sure, it covers a large area, but the enemy can only be one place at once. It's like they are trying to fight an army that just lined up to be shot instead of a single little girl.
