An interesting detail about KC's lamias that I recently noticed is that all of them have paired subcaudal scales (the large scales on the underside of a snake that it uses to grip surfaces). Now not all snakes have paired subcaudal scales, but in those that do they always start at the tail (before that the subcaudals consist of a single row of large scales rather than a paired row).

This is notable because it pertains to the question of whether a lamia's snake body is a tail or an extension of the torso. KC's choice of where the genitals are, plus the paired subcaudals, suggests that the snake portion of his lamias indeed meant to be a true tail. In that way their snake portion is quite different from real snakes, for whom the tail is normally pretty short and plays fairly little role in locomotion (aside from species in which the tail is prehensile).

And as we see here, this was not true of the old lamias initial designs (in this case the medusa) where they had unpaired subcaudals. So the changed to paired subcaudals must have meaning.

KC didn't start out all that great (and he was even less refined before he started the MGE).

Anyone else here since the days of the Old MGE?

>Isn't that early KC art?
No, the artist is just really good at imitating KC's old art style.
