The thing about Romans is they they were cultural bigots, rather than racial ones. Their whole agenda was centered around crushing their neighbors, annexing them to the Empire, and taking whatever they they thought was best of their culture and knowledge and integrated it into their own to create some sort of Master Culture. Barbarian literally means uncultured, or uncivilized, and to romans that meant anyone that wasn't Roman (or greek) in culture, not in race.

Monster girls would have probably done just fine among romans. The romans would have crushed and annexed a tribe of amazons and,seeing their strength and warrior culture integrated them into the legions as auxiliary units after some proper 'Romanization' of their culture.

Maybe there could had been even monster girls, senators, dictators or even emperors, seeing as they could hold as much power as any human man.
