Why is Marisa the best touhou?

If Marisa were to become a youkai magician, how much would it actually matter?

Did everything but the PC-98 games, which I have not played and therefore do not feel I can judge properly.

Marisa is by far the best touhou. Everyone in Gensokyo loves her and she has the charm and the smile to light up a room. Anyone who doesn't like her is quite frankly, excuse my French, a faggot. Not to mention she's one half of the only canon yuri relationship in the Touhou universe.
