I'd love to think that some weaker guy tries to win the love of some magically or physically strong mg but fails and goes on an adventure to finally gain enough strength to impress his future waifu and win her love. She eventually hears stories of him performing feats on hero levels and even became something of a legend in the region, she totally isn't afraid that he could rival her power one day but decides to put a stop his quest, it's just that the rumors her servant keep prattling on about him annoy her. She hires Kunoichis to "assassinate" him but they fail, so she sends the finest band of P'orc mercs to take care of him and they fail too, she finally sends her slamander honor guard to stop him but they come crawling back their perfect enchanted armor dented and ruined, their admantium swords broken and they tell her that he's on his way here. She plays it cool in front of her underlings before going to her personal chambers and panicking, she's excited that she could finally have an equal, a challenge, but the prospect of possibly losing a battle in centuries scares her, especially since he's just a human.
