Cool female friends in otome games are nice, especially when they're actually relevant and support the MC (picture related, cool suspenseful game that doesn't take too long to play).
It always feels cheap to me to have a game where almost all of the characters are entirely male/female and orbit around the MC, who often doesn't really have the personality to warrant having a harem of hot people.
