When mistress was done she came back over to me and looked at me with such a caring face. I guess she saw me do what little I could to fight the wolves and try to defend the tiny manticore.

She picked me up as well and carried me out of the woods, along with everyone else. When we got to the cars she began to bandage me and the tiny, savaged manticore gave me a weak smile and latched onto my fingers with her tail.

Still full of vigor she tried to growl and fired another barb into me - feisty little thing! But it was all in good fun.
