Halford was ill during the concerts and they had to rerecord most of his parts (maybe not all like I've said in my previous post). The band admitted to fixing the vocals on the album, so I don't know if there was any face-saving going on. Anyway, it didn't stop people from thinking that the whole album was recorded in a studio, which is not true.
