So, I'm back to update on the situation.
Looks like I WAS using it wrong. I just needed to take my time and try different poses and angles. I used it slowly for an hour this time and it worked wonders.
I'm not saying this is the best thing ever, but the fact I made it work makes me really happy and now I'm eagerly waiting for the Mouth of Truth, to compare them both, even though they're made to represent different parts of the body.
