Yes, only boss nodes give larger chunks of experience. Just get your ships to remodel and fully modernize them.

Levels are overrated, especially in a piss easy event like this. I'm HQ 100+ and it's not like Amatsukaze here has been doing any worse than the rest.

In the Midway event I did AL with a level 10 Mogami and a level 25 Fusou.
