On-topic otaku culture discussion edition

ITT we ERP (Erotic Roleplay) with each other as characters from the Japanese bullet hell shooter series "Touhou Project".

In order to set the mood let's describe what lewd stuff you would do if you were Kosuzu. You're in your bookstore arranging and sorting books and an anon comes and slaps your ass and gives you a flirtatious look. What do you do?

“So we should work with Myouren temple with the general education plan since they’re going to care for the children as well. We have a few years to get ready for that, so it’s not an immediate concern. For now we would focus on education courses for the adults. Catch up courses for literacy and math, basic economics and housekeeping. For the latter I picked out some books I thought we could use. We could go through those and see if anyone else wants to be a teacher to keep the workload off of you” I handed over the paper to Keine. Mokou sat on the couch, casually listening in as she let Aki and Mochi sleep against her. We still had time until the next meeting started, so we had time to talk. It was strange, a few months ago I would have never even considered the possibility of Keine leading a revolution against the Heida family for the sake of new family and me being a part of it but so much has changed this year. With the specter of death looming over my shoulder, something like this seemed mundane. As drastically this might change things, this was a battle of words and steady planning with minimal danger involved. I nearly died in order to keep up the barrier between humanity and youkai, but yet here I was trying to tear it down. If Akyuu was still alive-well she’d really put her father in line-but she’d probably kneel over dead once she found out.

“Mystia did say she might be able to teach others how to cook. Once we start being able to start up lessons we can delegate tasks. So what about the newsletter?” Keine said as she looked over the list of books with the analytical gaze of a teacher, likely forming a timeline years out in her head.

“With the letters being censored we’d have to be avoid anything overt or else they’d shut down my printing press. The spike in pregnancies gives us some cover. There are plenty of humans in the village that have gotten pregnant so that should've arouse too much suspicion. If we just focus on childcare and general news to start, we can help guide them towards resources and move things along that way. If we slowly get them acclimated to being around youkai, it’ll help us. The issue is the price of printing and the lack of writers, but we can gather funds and I could do some writing myself. Maybe Aya would be interested in ghostwriting for us”

Mokou clears her throat. I never knew someone could sound so angry while doing so. It had completely slipped my mind that Aya’s newspaper taken a turn for the bizarre. A column on childcare was one thing, but all the news centered around the HSE was something else. Honestly, I had gotten sick about the positive articles she had written about that place so I long stopped reading it other then glancing it before hiding them away. I wasn’t going to sell newspapers about a whorehouse, and Aya’s secretive behavior as of recently made it tricky to get hold of her considering everything on my plate. If she was connected to Yukari, then keeping away from her was a good idea.

“Well, maybe that’s a bad idea. We’ll look around for authors” I said, rubbing the bridge of my glasses. Content, Mokou turned her attention back to her children. I never figured her as someone with a soft spot for children, but she was almost a natural at it, looking at her I had almost no worries about their future.

“So that’s settled. Once the Heidas take the bait, then we can start moving more openly. Raising funds, distributing literature, making more allies. If we work with the growing acceptance of youkai by humans then as long as we have a careful hand we can push things along”

“What’s that?” I said.

Keine drummed her fingers on the table, a frown on her face as she thought. “The HSE, for all the harm it has caused has shown humans and youkai can live together. It brought humans and youkai under one roof and proved that they can work together and even find companionship with each other. The coming generation is all the proof one needs of this”

“It is?” I responded, a pit twisting in my stomach. I had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I was missing something right in front of my face.

“Most of the children we’ve seen are half-youkai after all. Things aren’t going to be the same. It would be impossible to deny change when there’s so many couples out there”

The pit in my stomach got deeper. Why did those words fill me with so much dread? No, I had long found something off. How all this started after the HSE opened. How it became a huge sensation. How three different people admitted Anon was a father to me. Aya’s connection to that place, and her comment about half-youkai children. Now this. Keine looks over to me, concern clear in her face.

“Is something wrong?” She asked cautiously. Did she know? She had to with how intelligent and involved in all of this she was. It would be better if she didn’t have me to worry about.

“Just thinking about all the work we have to do, that’s all” I lie.

I just finished this old book about folklore. It's more about folk cures, rituals and the like rather than stories but I found it interesting. After I'm done the book I started on now, I'll probably pick up one of the books I have on youkai to learn more about them.
