Wendigos are usually just a North American version of a Ghoul, or in the case of Stephen King's Pet Semetary, a massive creature with a deer's head. KC's Wendigo, as I had said multiple times, is based on Lovecraft's Ithaqua. Ithaqua is just a giant monstrous creature that walks on the winds and summons snow storms to eat people.

Skinwalkers on /x/ are usually just fleshgait shitposts over actual skinwalkers. Fleshgaits inhabit the body/replace the person they're imitating similar to Edgar the Bug in Men in Black. They're exceptionally good at doing this, but at the same time they have to lure somebody away from the group.

Actual skinwalkers are just shamans/warlocks/medicine men who wear the pelts of animals to transform into them or murder blood relatives to do it. But to answer your question:

Wendigos in KC's lore act alot more like fleshgaits/goatmen than skinwalkers. While not directly malevolent pre-Demon Lord they probably intentionally made people pull a Blair Witch Project before eating them in the cold.

So in summary:
