Yes and no. JAST has only two full-time employees (Peter and Makoto), and most of the actual translation/editing/testing is done by people hired on a per-game basis, from what I heard.

The actual numbers (for professional VN translation) are secret, though they are infamously low (i.e. ridiculously underpaid, not a reliable source of income). Having seen some numbers, I can confirm this. (Though it must be noted that properly paid professional translation is extremely expensive, so it may not be a valid point of reference.)
Fan translators, naturally, are paid only in complaints from ungrateful fans. Involving money in fan translation has traditionally been a 'the worst thing you could do' situation, and VN translation has had only one example of money being involved in unofficial translations to my knowledge.

I say that even though it's basically my ultimate fetish combination of mindbroken slut + pure and loving loli. Maybe it was just the circumstances I read it in - it was the first VN I ever read, I cried repeatedly throughout and didn't leave the computer once while reading - but I couldn't disengage myself enough from Fuminori to return to myself and fap to it, not even for a minute.

I think it's particularly accessable, Fuminori as a character and as a VN in general, for /jp/, seems to be why discussions of Saya no Uta invariably always involve a hot or not debate depending on how people connected to it.
