If the production is so inflexible that seiyuu performance won't affect the animation (anything from adjusting cut timings to creating new stuff based on adlibs) then it's a shitty production.

Like that anon said, it really depends on the production. There are extremes on both ends like K having it's first episode in full color for the recordings and Shaft during it's golden age doing its own thing.

It happens all the time with games and drama CDs and most series these days are adaptations so in the worst case they can just read the source material if they are that worried (like Nakata Jouji reading Horizon's LN despite it being phonebook thickness because of his work ethics).
