That's about right. Warming the pot by swilling a bit of hot water inside before putting in the leaves is recommended. You probably want to measure how much water looks like what in your teapot before you try brewing, especially if you're not making an entire pot. For black tea, a teaspoon (5 ml, 2 grams) for a 6oz cup is right. An infuser isn't necessary, you can just put the leaves directly in the pot.

And I guess you should throw out used tea leaves within the day? Each successive infusion will be weaker and if you leave it out longer, more flavor will escape but it won't grow moldy or anything for a few days...
