Why was the true ending to Kara no Shoujo so shitty and forced?

1.Protag-kun apparently loved Touko but he didn't even attempt to look for her and he basically gave up. He hardly even mentions her once she goes missing....

2. What was the motive of Touko's mom for killing her?

3. Why did Orihime start a prostitution ring? What happened to her bodyguard that was watching over her when she was kidnapped?

4. There's probably a reason given for this, but what was Nene doing at the academy?
