I think that, in this psuedo-Buddhist cosmology, morality is woven into the very fabric of reality, and the Enma is appointed by the Powers-that-Be to judge all those who die. She is not moral by reason, or by might, or coercion. She is moral by axiom; things just work that way because they do. For instance, we know, roughly, what gravity does. We don't know why it does what it does, though, or even how.

I occasionally wish that he'd use his existing cast more rather than just introducing new characters each game. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing new characters, but it seems rather sad to introduce a character once and then never mention them again. It also feels like wasted potential; he has this massive cast, but he never does anything with them.
