With an official hiatus published for the author of Bunbunmaru, responsibilities were turned over to the “Tengu News Association”, otherwise known as Megumu herself. Even if Yukari could manipulate Aya, it was far more difficult to dictate what a daitengu would say, even more so to censor them. Yet, Megumu wasn’t interested in making waves. She simply chose to elevate the trite Bunbunmaru has been publishing recently to a daitengu’s standards while inundating Aya with a list of names for her children.

“Ooh, how about Rin? It’s a very beautiful name.”

“No, kids named Rin tend to go missing. I don’t want my kids to be in danger.”

“Maybe Tomoe? It’s nice and strong, so she’ll take care of herself.”

“Ehh… A name like that might invite strife into her life.”

“How about Fuyuko since they’re being laid in winter? Oh, we haven’t even started getting to names for boys!”

This was the price of keeping Bunbunmaru out of Yukari’s hands. It was also the last thing Aya wanted to do today. She was wasting valuable time cooped-up instead of checking on her business deals or investigating Tsukasa’s role with the HSE. Megumu could be oblivious at times, but she wasn’t dumb enough to answer Aya about the Tenma’s deal with Yukari. If only she knew anything about that invisible jerk besides the fact they were invisible! Maybe something in their shadow-

“Go to Eientei, now!” A panicked cry broke Aya out of her thoughts. Megumu’s face had gone pale. A sense of deja vu surrounded the reporter before she touched her cheek. This damn cut… Not just a cut, a clue! “I heard that during pregnancy excessive exsanguination becomes more likely-”

Aya left before the daitengu was finished, relieved that she had any excuse to get the hell out of there.

Business seemed slow in the hospital. The waiting room was empty, save for a familiar face. Well, most of it was familiar, save for a large welt on her cheek. “What’s the matter Hatate, someone find out you were spying on them and complain in person?”

The brunette tengu opened her mouth slowly and spoke with a bit of a lisp. “Kasen happened. I talked to her for a second and she just punched me. Good news is that anyone would believe the story now.”

“Why’s that? Did you catch her talking to Yukari or something?” Avoiding speech, Hatate instead presented her flip-phone to Aya. Clear as the moon on a cloudless night, it was an angry, pink-haired hermit pulling her arm back, thrusting it forward, and making contact with Hatate in slideshow-format while the distinct entrance to the HSE was in frame. She captured the action pretty well, but Aya would never admit it out loud.

“This is great news! Now we can create a solid connection to Kasen’s stature and nighttime visits to the HSE, shifting the blame away from Kanako. Everyone will think she’s the one the rumors were about all along.” Everything was coming together perfectly. Maybe after everything died down she’d post a story getting Kasen’s side of why she was walking by the HSE in the first place.

Of course, Hatate had to knock the tengu off of her high. “Everyone except for you.”

“Excuse me?”

“There’s clear proof Kasen is visiting the HSE at night and that she’ll get violent at onlookers. Look what she did to me!

“Why would she stay invisible attacking me but not you? It doesn’t make any sense! That’s clearly not all there is to it.”

As the tengu started arguing back and forth, two orderlies showed up to break up the fight before it could get ugly. These two clearly-delinquent tengu had to be separated before they made more work for the nurses.
