lately it seems i've been reading bits and pieces--i start intent on a book but my health worsens and when it picks up again i can no longer just pick up said book, i am drained of that magical substance of tenacity.

i have been on an kenzaburo oe binge, i finished the changeling and a personal matter and have been reading a silent cry and somersault; lolita was great and i liked the overcoat so gogol by nabokov turned out to be pretty great too!!

authors on my to-read-more-of list would probably be: satre, paz, borges, hemmingway (after i watched that episode of bartender about how "man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated." it really got me excited about hemmingway in a way i high school didn't really reach), dh lawrence, and of course serge lang
