The grammar certainly is impeccable. The story itself is awfully generic and boring, which is shame. The characters lack depth and function, they need to be lively rather than mundane. Everything below the surface level is lacking, and redundancies that needn't be written only serve to make the reader writhe in tedium.

If I were to compare it to something, I'd say YBA is the Jeb! Bush of writers.
