I found this on /sci/ a few weeks ago. I don't even know why /lit/ is so high up, and don't agree with many of the other choices, but was pleasantly surprised to see /jp/ take its rightful place.

Allow me to elucidate why this is correct. People wind up being residents on /jp/ from behavioral patterns that are the result of either marked intelligence: a purposeful isolation from mind-rot Western media and socializing with normals, two major things that cause bias + marginalize and lower your own opinions and thoughts.. This, OR, far-inferior intellect, e.g the same type of overgrown big man-babies who could just as easily have gotten obsessed with Pokemon as they happened to get into Touhou or VNs. There is little room for average intellect here, which is prevalent on most of the other boards.

I do believe many people here on /jp/ are above the intellectual norm. I know that I am, at least, not just by IQ score (which is still only a nebulous and mis-appropriated test) but by practice... I'm a proteomics researcher. I'm more /sci/ than /sci/ itself is and I can't fucking stand that place anymore. At least people here are not posers/wannabes nor are we grossly insecure of our social standings and opinions (such insecurity is a disease on the rest of 4chan), and they also carry the same extremely snide/condescending attitude I overflow with. Our superior intellect is why, a couple of autistic trolls aside (ultra-low intellect I mentioned earlier, they are a tiny minority though), we are the most on-topic and focused board on 4chan, the only one running (or at least attempting to run) like how an imageboard is actually intended to operate... this is an alien idea amongst the mongoloids in neighboring boards here, and so we are obviously not understood very well. However we don't really care what other boards think of us, because we are overall not insecure as fuck like they are.
