Those dreadful beasts that haunt my beloved village within most glorious Korsplakistanvania? Often have I considered them, as a precautionary tale. I slept fitfully once, but a wise traveling merchant came bearing gifts and wisdom. Now, taking her advice, I cover my ass in garlic, drink holy water constantly, and carry a sunlight releasing stone on my person at all times.

Take my advice, and do as I do. Now I don't worry about vampires, I sleep peacefully in my humble village. As an added bonus, the wise merchant gave me a Kraken repelling stone at a reduced cost. My rest is very deep, for no squid will disturb my dreary land-locked village!

All is not perfect, though I am certain the charms are potent. A shadow remains in our homey village. Poor Sobieslawa, the taverness, often felt faint when I stand near and discuss the bloodsucking menace. Recently, she collapsed in to my arms from fright, begging me to take her someplace. She was so scared that she couldn't even tell me where to take her. For a moment she begged me to take her to the very tavern we were inside!

I have seen this, my friends. The dread. The vampyre...fear of them can addle the wits of even the strong willed. It scattered her brains by the dread, and without even being there!

So this is why I make posting here. Arm yourselves as I, for two reasons. To repel the vampyre yes. Also we must repel the dread. We are fortunate here, for the wise merchant told me of how bathing in garlic, sunlight, and holy water bring fortitude to the mind. So happy a coincidence that what repels the vampyre itself repels the dread of the vampyre too.

Sobieslawa is recovering now, with the aid of the three sacraments. It is a painful thing to shake off the dread of the vampyre, but she is strong. Her fits of anger and confusion have passed. When I took her at dawn to soak in the barrel of garlic and holy water the dread within her broke. She clasped my hand and bravely demanded that we marry. I did not expect so, my friends, but who could refuse such a pleasant demand?

I could not. On the spot, I promised to marry her. I gently put on her the ring of my late babushka, it is covered in many sacred symbols for good fortune and luck. Pic. She was so happy that her eyes gleam with tears immediately! But on this happy day the dread of vampyre made her wits scatter again. So I promise her we will marry in the church, full of sacred symbols, to lift her spirits from the dread and protect her. She cried tears of happiness, I did not know dear Sobieslawa was so delicate!
