hello aspiring songwriter/poetsir. good work so far! as a friendly suggestion, maybe "tears fell from my eyes" would work better to rhyme with "sodomize"
then, additional syllables in the final line could also balance out the rhythm (or "meter") with a 7-5-7-5 scheme
the result could look something like this:
>I went down to the river
>Tears fell from my eyes
>My newhalf found another
>Fren to sodomize
