So I haven't checked out Umineko in ages, the last chapter I followed being the fourth one. Or was it the fifth? It's the one with the trial at the very end and Battler becomes the Endless Sorcerer.

Anyway, has the Umineko universe completed yet? Did the story go with the whole fiction within a fiction storyline? Where all the chapters were just novels written after the events on the island?

Fill me in please.

Everything after Episode 1 never happened, because things like witches, magic, and 'playing magic chess with a self called witch who revives you after stake-turned-girls eat you' do not exist.

After the night of October 5th Ushiromiya Battler has been in a coma and events after Episode 1 are the result of the dream he is having. Things like Bern, Lambda and repeated worlds are the results of the influences from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni which he himself, while alive, stated that he recently read.

None of the 18 is involved with killing, and of course, at the beginning of October 4th Kinzo is alive. If he wasn't, it would imply Jessica and the Eagle servants are all in on it, and while possible, is unlikely due to the fact that they get killed.

The culprit is a Killer X. Before October 4th he/she killed a servant outside of the island to get the master key, and went onto the island through it's hidden port along with a bunch of helpers. Their motives do not matter, maybe they just want the fortune, or maybe it's revenge for something Kinzo did.

Around the turning of October 3rd to 4th, the 4 members in the dining room; Krauss, Rosa, Rudolf and Kyrie were killed by poison served by Gouda. Maybe Gouda was threatened by the killers, or he was payed off by the killers. Either way he felt a loyal to Natsumi when they tried to go for her next and resisted, with either Gouda himself or one of the killer being slammed against Natsumi's door and getting blood all of it. Because of Natsumi's medicine she did not wake up from the noise.
