There's a lot of youkai that are not a threat to humans. Byakurens followers could have easily became blood thirsty youkai out for revenge after what they did to Byakuren but they chose not to. Byakurens only flaw is that she broke her vows and dabbled in dark magic. Her teachings are sincere still.
