What I liked the most in Higanbana were the interactions between Marie and well, Higanbana. It was also very funny, that chapter with Sakutaro being a drunkard is something I still remember today.
Still, in my opinion Rose Guns Days is a better story. The beginning scenes at primavera actually reminded me a lot of how the club members in Higurashi would interact, and seeing that slowly fade away to be replaced by mafia shenanigans was both sad and amazing to follow.

Interesting way of looking at it, this may be the case actually. Or maybe it's just a reference to the concept of mortality/ephemeral stuff that the lab guys managed to escape, since time doesn't even affect them anymore. So many questions
