The point that critics don't understand is that Japan's history is closely tied to fish. Were it not for this amazing source of energy, the Japanese would never have been able to produce magnificent Otaku Culture. Therefore, fish occupy a central place in Japanese - and indeed Otaku! - culture, being revered. The latest example in this historical trend is the sakabanba, but many more examples may be met throughout the ages.
