I see, sorry if I came off as abrasive in the post. The point is that this new power-up they got, from a fighting perspective, doesn't have a counter or a limit beyond the usual "tiring/straining the user", which is just another way to say "they stop using when the plot demands"; and since they're expected to fight despite their intentions to keep the kids safe, it's hard to see them only do so while still having such a power. Even the most hacked characters have a limit/counter to their abilities coming into the finale
>Yukari's gaps can be closed by Ran, Kasen and even destroyed by Flan's powers, same for Okina's doors in regard to the last example
>Reimu cannot float if she's not calm, her flames have a time limit too and need to be retrieved (both in the Hana bath scene)

It'd be nice for other writers if this new power had a way to be either exploited or countered like it was with just their connection and the bracelet, otherwise to defeat them there'll be need to just brute force it, which is never fun to write about

adding to this Anon's great explanation >>46030559, Yukari did indeed fucked with Reimu's head when she was little, apparently following Osana Reimu and Reireimu canon (Reimu's mother; her power; Ran reflecting and regretting OR ending). The fact she was raised motherless and only remembers her childhood as training the gohei and fighting likely built a big package of trauma she couldn't properly solve because she was either busy, too stubborn or too poor to seek help. Then the mofu and cat therapy happened, the problems exposed and she developed a healthy way to cope and reflect on deep-seated rage, loneliness and extreme violence, rather than use violence to 'solve' all of those. The parallels with Yukari and Kasen continue, wity Yukari having her problems exposed to her and offered multiple chances to reflect and change, yet choosing to let trauma guide her actions still; while Kasen is forever haunted by choosing to not face the bad of herself.
