>because every 48 girl who joined was ready to halt their 48 activities for that 1.5
It seems reasonable. The AKB48 girls would get overworked to death and we saw the shit show that happened when Jellyfish debuted a group during IOI promotions after like three months. Mina and Sejeong were ripped a new one and their debut tanked because of all the hate (and their song sucked ass too... )

Its good for Starship girls because they get 1.5 years to become more popular and let Starship pick out their other members while pushing WJSN hard for everything they got. By then WJSN will be 4-5 years into their debut which makes it about time they either make it/break it which is perfect time for a new girl group. Also JYPNGG is debuting next year and Starship wouldn't want to compete with that, and there are rumors SM is debuting a new girl group next year too.

I could see maybe the younger AKB48 members not wanting to be in the group. Erii looks and acts miserable so I can see her pulling out of the show especially if she ranks in the top 12 next week. That girl doesn't seem to want to work for a 1.5 before she can return to AKB48.

I'm curious to see how other AKB members will react. Miyu for me seems like the only one who wouldn't be upset by this contract deal since she is completely nugu in AKB and is an older member. Sakura probably would be ok with this because she will become more publicly known as an individual vs an AKB member which will be good if she wants to graduate soon and start individual activites.
