Mhm, I wrote on Onikakushi here a month or two back but I often think about it the most whenever I think about Higu. It's such a creepy chapter that turns into a gut-wrenching tragedy once it gets recontextualized. Mion and Rena applying a ''Without love, it cannot be seen'' philosophy in thinking that Keiichi needs them now more than ever and refusing to let go of him, which bites them so hard in the end, but them holding on to that love even as he's beating them to death being the thing that causes him to snap back to his senses in chapter 6. And Ooishi being his only lifeline when Ooishi was the one that pushed him to paranoia the most in the first place. I usually prefer to think about Umineko but I often need to remind myself that Higurashi is brilliant in its own right.
