Glad I use targeted sentence cards now. I might actually make it.

> i ever recommend is the official djt guide the moe way or the itazura neko guide!
These guides are outdated and you don't need to recommend them anymore. The new official guide is tatsumoto.

Here's some facts about animecards and his guide:
>spams his shit everyday, hijacking every OP he can
>just wants you to give him money via patreon
>lies about other guides and resources
>uses shitcord, has a fake """djt""" server there
>uses windows
>uses MAL
>samefags
>doesn't actually know Japanese

Daily reminder: targeted sentence cards are the most effective way to combine Anki with immersion.

What are some judgments you have on the japanese language? Or rather, what are elements of the language that you don't realize until you get deeper into it?

Read the DJT guide to git gud https://tatsumoto.neocities.org/
️ Make targeted sentence cards (TSCs) for maximum gains.
Ignore spam linked in the OP (lernjapanese*moe, itazura, etc.). DJT has a long standing problem with spam.

Disregard SHIT advice frequently posted in these threads. Things to avoid:
・Itazuraneko. Outdated, hard to follow, confusing for beginners.
・any rentry.org and геddiт """guides""". nothing good has ever come out of геddiт.
・tmw/The moe way. Patreon scam run by a turkish tranny.
・Anime cards (the guide by someone named QM). It recommends words cards, which are proven to be less effective than targeted sentence cards (TSCs).
・Core 2.3k. It is based on newspapers from early 90s and additionally sorted in a way that makes learning harder. Try Ankidrone Starter Pack instead.
・Anacreon. Anacreon is an infamous spammer. He constantly hijacks our threads to shill his shit.
・Discord servers. Discord is malware that runs a data mining operation. DJT has moved to Matrix.
・Refold, Migaku and other money grab schemes.
・Visual novels. Experienced learners say they're trash because of unnatural speech and useless vocabulary. Most VNs are proprietary ー https://www.gnu.org/proprietary/

tatsumoto is the best guide.

What this guy said, exactly. Well, almost. Even if you have a million dollar trust fund, you'd still be wasting your time on rosetta stone.
Continuing with the text book is also a good idea. Do you have Genki? みんなの日本語?
Else, if you're done with those, start reading Tae Kim (the grammar guide). You need to know the basic grammar by heart, but for special expressions it's enough to be able to recognize them at first.
A tutor is an excellent idea, on the conditions already mentioned by this guy. Really try not to fall back to English.
It is pretty useless to learn all the possible pronunciations of every kanji. You should know the Kunyomi, and some people like to know the radicals and follow Heisig. You'll learn the Onyomi by learning it's Jukugo.
The rest is immersion, but make sure you never take watching anime as a serious way to learn Japanese. The troll infograph is a parody on the kind of weeaboo that thinks so.
Get Anki, get the core 2K/6K deck with images and audio, optionally get the Heisig's RTK deck. The latter depends on preference. It takes a lot of time, but it might help you recognizing kanji in the beginning.
After about 1500 vocab in the core 2K/6K, or possibly sooner, start reading.
Good starter's material is Yotsuba&, Read Real Japanese (despite it's slightly sketchy name), Breaking into Japanese Literature.
Those will get you more used to reading Japanese. Then you should decide for yourself what to read next. There's a large amount of literature available on the cornucopia of /a/'s DJT. The thread usually derails though, though you do get fast answers to any questions you might have that are not already answered in the sticky.
Rikai-sama is also very useful, but it is a little bit habit forming so don't use it too much. Japanese IME is a must.
Japanese is a beautiful language, but it requires a lot of time and dedication. If you love it as much as I do though, you'll surely make it.
