>It's not forbidden at all. Discuss it all you want and ignore the whiny faggots that bitch at everything.
moot said /jp/ is for otaku stuff that *lacks its own board. Reread his sticky. Pic related.

Also, a year ago I made a few Naruto threads on /jp/ to test the waters and each thread got deleted. Thank goodness. Reported.

Clarify some things. Are all 'Japan' related topics allowed to be posted on /jp/? Or does this name change mean only 'otaku' related topics are allowed. I assume the latter seeing how you replied to this thread.

Also, what about the topics that already have their own boards? For example, Japanese cartoon threads. Do they belong on /a/ or /jp/? Yes, there are users here that are dumb enough not to understand this. Please clarify, it'll make the Janitors' jobs more easier.

What exactly do you want /jp/ to be? Your opinion is obviously in the minority here? Are you the same guy that was arguing that "all things Japan" should be allowed here? That would never work. Here's my interpretation of the rules. Then I want to hear your interpretation of the rules. You obviously weren't on old /a/, so I'll give you a history lesson.

Long story short, Touhou along with a few other non-/a/ related topics which includes (but is not limited to) VNs, 2ch, nico, Hatsune Miku, neta, and figs got spammed to death on old /a/. The most vocal being the Touhou fans who were known for hijacking threads with imagedumps. (And to add, I feel like I had a hand in the creation of /jp/ because I was one of the guys that kept bothering moot about the Touhou fans' behavior. This was before I became a fan of the franchise myself.) moot wanted /a/ to become anime and manga again so he created /jp/ to be a catch all place for a) the threads we tried to argue belonged on /a/ and b) the threads that lacked their own boards.

Your problem is that you interpret the laws literally. If /jp/ was for all things Japan related then Naruto threads would be allowed here. Japanese video games like Mario and Metal Gear would be allowed here. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Dear guest, /jp/ is not a board about Japanese culture. Just because it was created in Japan does not make it /jp/ related. As mentioned in moot's sticky, /jp/ was created for Touhou, Visual Novels, and any other Japanese topic that *lacks its own board. <- People tend to forget the last part. Although 4chan was created to be a website about Japanese culture, Japan is not special. /mu/ for example wasn't created to exclude j-pop. I don't recall reading a rule on /ck/ that said only western cuisine was allowed to be discussed.

-For Japanese fashion: /fa/
-For Japanese cartoons & comics: /a/
-For Japanese vacations: /trv/
-For Japanese music: /mu/
-For Japanese literature: /book/
-For Japanese porn: /t/, /s/, /hc/
-For Japanese automobiles: /o/
-For Japanese birds cooking spaghetti: /jp/

/jp/ is good in comparison to most boards but it would be perfect if it had a little more rules/regulations. Saying "all things Japan are welcomed" is counterintuitive. Remember - /b/ is the product of zero rules. And we all know how great /b/ turned out. Isn't it ironic how the second moot changed /b/ from 'Anime/Random' it became shitty. I wonder what would happen if moot took the "Japan" out of /jp/.

Thanks to our small userbase we've managed to survive with little guidance from the law, but what will we do two years from now once our immigration is as big as /a/ and /v/s'. What's to stop the guest of tomorrow from making jr Idol, j-rock, and japanese fashion threads? /jp/ in my opinion already has enough topics as it is. You do realize that /visual novels/ and /touhou/ alone are technically big enough to support their own boards. A *little rules wouldn't hurt anything. As of right now the only thing we can use for guidance is moot's sticky where he said "/jp/ is for the otaku stuff that *lack their own boards." This does a pretty good job of keeping out the sushi and j-rock threads.

First of all I've already confirmed that the mods delete threads such as this. (I too have made these threads in the past). Secondly, the word Japan is too ambiguous. With your logic we could talk about manga on /jp/ simply by saying "ITT Japanese comic books."

If you look at moot's sticky he said /jp/ will be a place for stuff that *lack their own boards.

At any rate, I no longer care. Carry on with your anarchy.

Hey um, seeing how you're friends with a few janitors, can you tell the janitors to start cutting down on the 'non-otaku' related threads. As moot said in his sticky, /jp/ is for the stuff that lacks its own board.

/mu/, /trv/, and /lang/ threads don't belong here.
