It seems that most here are a bunch of no-fun-allowed jaded snobs ESLs judging the remake before even touching the game, only through secondhand spoilers alone.

It is a visual novel, a piece of entertainment material to take your mind off the real world by presenting you another one. It is not supposed to be a treaty on high philosophy, but a story that sends you through different emotions and experiences while building new layers of plot, from carefree slice of life to world ending outer-world menaces.

It is so hard to clean your mind and take the story for what it is and just have some fun? If you don't want chunni stuff and action, go read a textbook.
