Repeat. That was a sad time for pets.

Luckily various changes in Elona+ has made it so permanent pet ownership works and is now even the best way to go about dealing with pets.

Seeing your pet through everything and never ditching them is the only way you'll ever get a pet past lv 1000. For reference, Astral Light Pen inner god is lv 600 after the god recruitment penalty kicks in. Max level in the game is probably 10,000. Keeping your pets for the long term is also the only way you'll ever have pets with capped attributes. You are very limited in the pets you can capture later on as you can't capture dungeon bosses or enemies in the void.

Yuki is the very same little girl that was excited to be reunited with the main character upon entering Vernis. I've had her in my party as long as I've been playing the game pretty much.

He's, >>15401036, correct. Soft cap for speed is 2000. Normal methods of raising speed such as potions, herbs and AP will not work once you hit 2000. You'll just sit at 2000. There are however, things that can carry you past 2000 such as speed bonuses from equipment, being a one man party with the kokou feat, and being wet with a high swimming skill.

It is very important to have your speed at least somewhat close to your enemies speed so that the amount of actions both of you take will be somewhat equal. Also, yes there has been monsters in the void that I've met with 2000 speed and yes, their attributes can reach inner god levels.
