It makes sense. Having two equal leading figures within the same fact often leads to in-fighting between them and the eventual defeat of one and the assertion of dominance in the other.

The modern vision of equality between spouses could easily and almost always collides with our ingrained instincts, more often than not ending in divorces and unhappy marriages nowadays.

The reason why MG marriages are always successful (other than the sex being so good) is because there is a defined leader in the relationship, either if it's the monster girl or the man. When all members of a pack know their place within it, then there's no in-fighting over dominance and all members are happy as long as they perform their set tasks.

Take in mind that we're talking about leadership dominance, not necessarily bedroom dominance, and is definitely not condoning domestic violence.
