This gets brought up every now and then. From a technical perspective there is no reason to - PAWN is infinitely more limited in what it can do versus lua, and nowadays you can even run SA-MP scripts via AMX. Either way you'd be asking to scrap 5 years of a cumulative effort as most of the things we normally use aren't compatible with it. MTA started as basically a playground for any fun ideas I had - if there's something more prospective in the future I keep an open mind, but for now lua works well in regards to letting you make just about anything if you can think it up, even despite MTA's quirks.

I'll also give my usual admonishments and ask that everyone be on their best behavior. Don't use dumb slang words or whatever, just take it easy and have some mindless fun. If you're not sure what that entails, just lurk the chat for a bit.
