This is the problem with a lot of art comparisons. It really doesn't matter how hard it is to make something, that's not the determining factor in whether or not the work of art is actually interesting or not.

For example, look at hyperrealistic art. This was done with acrylics and I have no doubt that it required a massive amount of time and talent to create such a realistic looking image, but it's identical to a generic stock image that someone could take in less than 30 seconds with a modern camera. There's nothing interesting or thought provoking about it.

Artists who focus on realism bring nothing new to the world with their art, they might as well just buy a camera. Photography has completely taken away any purpose that they had and now the mark of a good artist is someone who can create imaginative works of arts, the types of images that a camera can't produce.
