Latency is lower than you'd think surprisingly but yeah upgrades wouldn't be unwelcome.
Music software has followed a lot of other software trends where they insist on changing a bunch of stuff every version. So if you do upgrade you'll just have to relearn how the software works again and it's just not worth the effort. On top of that you also have like 6 other programs wired into your DAW and they probably won't be compatible so you'll need to upgrade those and relearn all that again.
On top of all that every costs so much money on top of the time wasted. Although between you and me every studio I've been in has pirated half the software.
