Vtubers aren't "otaku culture".
First, it's not "otaku" it's mainstream and basically the same as any other streamer. There is no difference between a normal japanese streamer and a vtuber other than the avatar.
Secondly, it's not "culture". There is no culture to be seen, unless you think those reddit memes they watch and all the clips are culture. There is no irl scene with their own intricacies like with 3d idols. At best, you will say they got their shitty background lore and memes but how is that different from a regular streamer? Culture is nowhere to be seen, at best you could say "streaming culture" but that isn't something exclusive to vtubers and does streamers really belong here?
