As far as not unity/gamemaker, here's one I made in Java/LibGDX

Use ASDW for movement, use the mouse to drag within the right hand circle to aim

I don't miss my not-unity days. Just seeing the huge number of folders and files from older projects made me a little nauseous. For amateurs in this age it's really just an exercise in education no?
