I expect disagreement but I think in a way Elly Akira is a good example of an actress who debuted as youthful but already had some maturity, was cast for both youth and maturity for a surprisingly long time and matured in a graceful way. Of course she was never a lolibait and the first time retired before even the first level of hagdom but, if you consider her age and particularly after her comeback, she really wasn't old but I would call her second era a semi-hag era while until her first retirement she sometimes continued being cast in youthful roles and it worked. Yet, already early on she convincingly passed as a mature woman and had that energy in the right contexts. If she had continued and stopped getting daily lip fillers, she could have become a graceful hag and at the same time increased her lewdness. By now I'd even hope for her to make a second comeback just as a Madonna exclusive, she'd have enough hag energy and already looks mature enough for that so it's a shame she probably never will utilise it in what would be her second prime.

Ichigo Aoi could have been the first true lolibait who becomes a faux-hag if she didn't retire, the way I conceptualise her she always had some strange maturity even as a lolibait... I don't mean in every JAV she appeared in, of course in some cases her conceptualisation is as if she's a child but her face is likely growing into a beautiful hag face and it's a shame we won't see it happen. Sumire Kuramoto unironically probably soon will mature into a faux-hag, and I can't think of any previous true lolibait turning into a faux-hag and maturing into graceful hagdom. As you note the plastic surgery, all the borderline examples I can think of had plastic surgery and really never got much hag energy even if sometimes cast into "mature" roles. For many it probably is a case of wanting to stay youthful and it doesn't work, for others it's not realising how much effect even the successful plastic surgeries can have later. I like your fruit analogy.

Yes, they try to stay as youthful as when they really were young so they get surgery and when it doesn't work, they get more surgery trying to fix it but nothing can ever restore youth. That's why it would be better if hagdom is embraced, so when a beautiful JAV actress starts to visibly get older, instead of surgery to "regain youth" she either would not get any surgery or only get surgery to accentuate her natural beauty in a way that does not seek to obstruct the ageing process. It's easier said than done because even as a man it's easy to worry about getting old and for women the pressure to remain youthful is stronger, particularly in an industry that overall favours youth aside from exceptional studios like Madonna specialising in more mature women.

At least for now Hana Kano is not retired, I don't know if she will. All the others I mentioned aside from Nana Maeno are retired, yes. I thought she retired too but fortunately that wasn't the case.

I'm not sure if it's only that simple. It's true but in a way, nostalgia can be even for very recent things. To stay on topic I'll again use GTJ-097 to illustrate my point. It was released in 2021, yet now any time I fap to it feels comparable to fapping to DDT-235 from 2009. Of course the absolute level of nostalgia is different, but the quality of the nostalgic feeling is very similar despite the only true commonality being that they're both directed by Tohjiro... I don't think that's the explanation either because it happens with many things, and at least for me it can be voluntarily induced nostalgia. Maybe it could be called faux-nostalgia? When you mentally associate something with something however distantly correlative, if the conceptualisation is powerful in its similarity, then a sense of nostalgia begins to grow even for something very recent.
